Shawnigan Village Waterworks
Shawnigan Village Waterworks is one of many small private water utilities in the Province.
Private water utilities are regulated by the Water Comptroller of British Columbia and the Health Ministry.
Shawnigan Lake is the local water source. The water is chlorinated before distributing to each home and weekly testing is performed by the Ministry of Health to ensure good quality.
Our rate structure, approved by the Deputy Controller May 1, 2008, is based on the current needs and usage of residents and businesses on the system. Overage charges are designed to encourage wise use of the water.
